Today’s fish stomach sample is brought to you by a 10-inch brown trout caught at gate 8 on the lower Owens River at 1:00 P.M. This brown trout took a size 16 Butano nymph. This trout was keyed in on baetis nymphs, but was feeding opportunistically on hydropsyche caddis and stick caddis.

This trout was feeding on beats nymphs, hydropsyche caddis and stick caddis.
The beats nymphs were a size 20 pheasant tail nymph for comparison.
